We are proposing to upgrade and convert Spectrum office building in Bristol city centre – and we welcome your feedback.

Spectrum building on Bond Street, built in 1984, is now beyond economic repair as an office. The original glass cladding needs replacing to meet fire and sustainability standards, and the building no longer meets current energy or safety expectations. With demand for this type of office space declining, we propose to upgrade and convert the building into high-quality, energy-efficient student accommodation. Retaining and reusing the existing building will save a significant amount of embodied carbon compared with replacing it.

Our proposals are set out on this website, and we are very happy to answer any questions you have.

Please provide your feedback by 4 August 2025.
